Polo at the Guards Club, Windsor Great Park.
Sunday 5th June 2016.
BDC Members and their guests were welcomed by the Guards Polo Club to their magnificent grounds and clubhouse on Smith’s Lawn in Windsor Great Park. The BDC party was made up of just under 100 people and 31 cars of which 25 were Bentleys of all ages. After picnic lunches beside the cars and alongside the polo ground, polo commenced at 3 o’clock. Picnics were all off commendably high standards, some even luxurious, which prompted suggestions for a picnic competition next year for which, if acted on, brave volunteers will be called for to act as judges.
The polo match played alongside our privileged parking area, was a Quarter Final of the 22 Goal handicap Cartier Queen’s Cup between Zacara and RH Polo Team. The 6 chukka game was very even and hard fought to end in a 10 goal draw. An extra “sudden death” 7th chukka was required to award the match to RH Polo Team.
The beautiful weather prompted some to linger after the match to enjoy the tranquil evening before setting off for home.”
